Event: Danish-English Translators' Network
You are warmly invited to take part in an informal workshop on support for Danish-English translation in the UK at UCL on Monday 4 November, 13.00-17.30, in room B10 (seminar room 1), Bentham House, Endsleigh Gardens, London WC1H 0EG. (Click here for transport information and a map of the UCL area.)
The workshop will serve as a launch event for the new Danish-English Impact Translation Studentship at UCL, funded by Statens Kunstråds Litteraturudvalg and the UCL Impact Studentship scheme. Participants are invited to contribute their ideas and knowledge to the planning process for a new network and online resource for Danish-English translators in the UK.
Kulturstyrelsen has very generously offered to cover the travel costs of participating translators. The cheapest possible ticket by any reasonable route will be refunded (i.e. by air from Denmark or elsewhere, and normally by train in the UK). Refunds should be claimed directly from Klavs Nordstrand at Kulturstyrelsen. Please keep copies of your ticket(s) and receipt(s) and send them, together with bank details, to Klavs at email@example.com. Any queries about tickets eligible for refund should be addressed to Klavs at the same email address.
If you would like to attend the event, please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by no later than Monday 28 October. Please provide a short bio of your Danish-English translation experience, and/or a link to your website, and indicate in the same email if you have any special dietary requirements, mobility issues, etc. that you would like us to take into account when finalising the details of the event. (You will receive an auto-response from my email address, as I'm on research sabbatical; please ignore this and I'll confirm your place as soon as I can!)
The final programme for the workshop will be emailed to registered participants during the week before the event.
