The Reta Lila Weston Institute of Neurological Studies
The Reta Lila Weston Institute of Neurological Studies was founded in 1977 through a generous bequest from the Reta Lila Weston Trust for Medical Research, with the aim of furthering knowledge about stroke and neurodegenerative disorders.
We have an active programme of research into stroke and movement disorders, with particular emphasis on parkinsonian disorders, including idiopathic Parkinson's disease and progressive supranuclear palsy (Steele Richardson Olszewski Syndrome).
We are linked with the UCL Institute of Neurology, the Queen Square Brain Bank, the Sara Koe PSP Research Centre and the National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery, and carry out collaborative and interdisciplinary research combining clinico-pathological, genetic and cell biological approaches.
