Greta heads the EU Contracts Management team, which represents UCL in legal and financial negotiations with the European Commission, funding agencies and partner institutions at project application and pre-award stage. Greta also aims to facilitate UCL’s impact on EU research strategy and participation in funding programmes, particularly Horizon 2020. Greta previously held the post of Senior Manager at the Office of the Prime Minister, Malta, where she worked on EU Structural Funds programme development, project selection and financial control in consultation with the European Commission Directorate General for Regional Policy. Dr Juliet A. Ellis obtained a degree and Ph.D in biochemistry from the University of Bristol, and subsequently developed an interest in understanding the cellular mechanisms underlying disease. Post-doctoral work at University of Cambridge stimulated her interest in neuromuscular and cardiomyopathy research,  which led to her becoming a principal investigator in 1999 at The Randall Division of Cell and Molecular Biophysics, King’s College, London, UK. In 2009, she moved to The Institute of Child Health, UCL, as a research grants facilitator for the Dubowitz Neuromuscular Centre, and in 2014 transferred to ERIO as a European Proposal Manager. Claire is a European Proposal Manager mainly supporting SLASH and BEAMS School researchers who wish to coordinate Horizon 2020 proposals. Marie Claire offers proposal-writing services from the inception stage up to submission, along with general advice on participation in the programme. Previously, Marie Claire was a National Contact Point and Programme Committee delegate for the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).
