Welcome to UCL's first Food, Metabolism and Society Research Domain Early Career Researcher* networking event and poster competition!

We invite you to share your research and discuss how to combine different research expertises to address metabolic disease and global nutrition. What are the advantages to early career researchers in working across disciplines? What are the pitfalls and challenges; and who funds this type of work - and why?

This event will explore the how to-s of interdisciplinary collaborations, and include presentations from Wellcome on the activities and projects they fund in this interdisciplinary research sphere; and Prof Georgina Mace (UCL CBER), co-recipient of a recent £5M research grant as part of Wellcome's Global Food Systems and Health focus.

Tell us about what you do and display your research: we welcome poster submissions - please submit your poster abstract when filling out the registration form for the event. The deadline for submitting abstracts is 5pm on Tuesday 30th January. Selected applicants will be invited to display a poster during the event. Poster competition winners will be announced and rewarded at the end of the event, before the networking drinks reception.

(*Please note: this event is open to early career researchers (ECRs), i.e. those in the early stages of their research career. We encourage you to self-define with respect to whether you identify as an ECR, but our general guidance is PhD candidates and post-doc researchers who do not have a permanent position. Note that there is no age limit here.)
