The RA Fisher Centre for Computational Biology is able to draw upon the excellent bioinformatics/computational biology expertise of its members to broaden the computational skills of those carrying out experimental research within the members’ departments by offering workshops in a range of computer, statistical and bioinformatics applications.
This new initiative will focus initially on skills workshops on generic computer applications and will be trialled within the Department of Genetics, Evolution and Environment (GEE), before being rolled out further.
The first of these workshops, the Basics of R, was held in April 2013 and was offered on a goodwill basis free of charge to PhD students and postdocs within GEE.
The Centre has also developed an Online Tutorial
