Ronald A Fisher

R A Fisher was the Galton Professor in UCL from 1933 to 1943. He has been described as "a genius who almost single-handedly created the foundations for modern statistical science" (Hald, A. 1998 A History of Mathematical Statistics).

He was also one of the three founding fathers of theoretical population genetics (the other two being JBS Haldane, who was also in UCL, and Sewall Wright), a subject fundamental to the interpretation of genomic data.
