Prospective students invited to discover UCL at first Qatar Open Day
17 March 2014
On Tuesday 18 March, UCL Qatar will hold its first Open House event, Discover UCL, where prospective students, existing applicants and members of the community will be able to learn more about study opportunities at UCL, both in London and Doha.
Running from 6pm to 8pm, the programme will commence with a presentation session that showcases UCL degree programmes, student life, application criteria and scholarships. The London-focused aspects of the presentation, where emphasis will include foundation programmes and bachelor’s degree study, will be delivered by Mr Martin White, International Market Development Officer for the UCL Centre for Languages and International Education, London, and Ms Claire Underwood, Communications and Research Officer, UCL Qatar. In turn, UCL Qatar offerings will be presented by Mr Brett Kershaw, Marketing and Student Recruitment Manager, with input from the degree coordinators for all four of UCL Qatar’s Master’s programmes.
Following on from the presentation session, a Q&A panel discussion will take place. Guests will then have the chance to tour the UCL Qatar facilities and meet with admissions staff for one on one application guidance.
A food and refreshments reception will be also be held, providing prospective students with further opportunity to network with current students from the Master’s programmes at UCL Qatar, as well as UCL alumni and academic staff.
“We are excited to launch Discover UCL, which will be an annual addition to our events calendar. Interest in our degree programmes continues to increase, in line with UCL’s consistently strong performance in global university league tables. We hope that this event will help to underline the appeal and quality of a UCL qualification in the minds of prospective students.” said Brett Kershaw.
