Short Courses
UCL Qatar runs a range of Short Courses throughout the year serving mid-career professionals working within the cultural heritage sector.
Setting up an International Exhibition short course held for QMA staff
5 March 2012
Setting up an International
Exhibition is a short course run at the
Museum of Islamic Art by UCL Qatar, at the same time as the museum is preparing
the Gifts of the Sultan exhibition from LACMA, opening at MIA on 18
March 2012. The participants will receive lectures on all aspects of setting up an
international exhibition - how an exhibition is originally conceived, to
condition assessing objects and installation – by staff from both LACMA and the
MIA. During the course the participants will get the chance to go into
the temporary exhibition gallery to see, first hand, what they have been
learning in the lectures.
This course forms part of UCL Qatar's second short course series and is exclusive to Qatar Museums Authority (QMA) staff. A further series is in development and will be open to the general public in late 2012. These programmes will appeal particularly to mid-career professionals working within the cultural heritage sector.
