Members of Qatar’s disabled community have come together for a ground-breaking 'Disability Focus Group' held at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA). Organised by the MIA and UCL Qatar, this event saw Qatar's disabled community share their views on how to improve access to Museums for disabled people.

UCL teams with British Council to launch Museum Training School

UCL has teamed with the British Council to launch the Museum Training School (MTS). Commencing with a summer school in London in August 2014, MTS will provide arts and heritage professionals from around the world with the skills and knowledge necessary to increase the sustainability and growth of museums and galleries.

Museum Studies students launch UCLQurates with two Doha exhibitions

Students from the MA Museum and Gallery Practice degree programme at UCL Qatar have launched UCLQurates as a platform for curating student-led exhibitions under the guidance of academic staff. Debuting with two exhibitions to be held in Doha in April, UCLQurates 2014 is the first of what is set to become an innovative annual feature on Doha's cultural calendar.

On Tuesday 18 March, UCL Qatar will hold its first Open House event, Discover UCL, where prospective students, existing applicants and members of the community will be able to learn more about study opportunities at UCL, both in London and Doha.

UCL Qatar to hold first Spanish-language Public Lecture

On 11 March 2014 UCL Qatar will hold its first ever public lecture delivered entirely in Spanish. Dr Jose Carvajal Lopez, Lecturer in Islamic Archaeology at UCL Qatar, will present Una visión de al-Andalus: El pasado islámico de España at the Fanar Islamic Cultural Centre in Doha.
