Visiting Researcher (2012)
Henning Franzmeier is an Egyptologist, based at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany. He holds an MA in Egyptology from the University of Göttingen and has been conducting his PhD research on the Middle Egyptian site of Sedment since 2009.
His research areas include funerary archaeology, Egyptian pottery, the technology of water supply in Ancient Egypt and the history of Archaeology with a focus on 20th century German Egyptology. Since 2005 he has been involved with the Qantir-Piramesse project in the Egyptian Nile Delta, led by UCL Qatar Senior Research Fellow Dr Edgar Pusch. Whilst in Doha he worked on the evaluation of data which has been gathered by processing pottery on-site in previous years.
