Mr Argyris Karapitsanis is Teaching Fellow for Museums, Heritage and Archaeology at UCL Qatar. He plans and delivers lectures for UCL Qatar’s Continuing Professional Development courses for museum professionals, contributes to teaching in the Masters degrees and coordinates the work placements of Master’s students. His own main research interests are in the theory and implementation of museum education practises mainly through drama in education and storytelling, museum marketing and cultural communication and cultural tourism.

Mr Karapitsanis holds a BSc in Tourism Management from the TEI of Thessaloniki, Greece, an MFA in Drama from the Faculty of Fine Arts of The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, an MSc in Planning, Management and Policy of Tourism from the University of the Aegean and an MSc in Cultural Organisations Management from the Hellenic Open University, where he specialised in the planning and management of cultural educational programmes. For more than nine years he has been working as an educator teaching drama in education, museum education practises and tourism disciplines in schools, museums, cultural associations and colleges in Greece, as well as working as a cultural consultant conducting audience development research in Greek cultural associations. Before joining UCL Qatar, he was the Head of the Educational Programmes Department at the Teloglion Foundation of Arts – Museum of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
