Provost's Awards for Public Engagement 2014

The nominations in this year's awards gave the panel of judges some difficult decisions to make. The high standard of work shown by our winners reflects an impressive set of nominees.

Student engager of the year

This year, the panel decided to award two prizes in this category, each to a thoroughly impressive candidate:

Nadia Abdul-Karim, UCL Chemistry and UCL Security and Crime Science

Ego Ahaiwe, UCL Information Studies

Academic/research staff (grade 6 or 7) engager of the year

Dominic Furniss, UCL Interaction Centre

Academic/research staff (grade 8 or above) engager of the year

Jayne Kavanagh, UCL Medical School

Professional services staff engager of the year

Manjula Patrick, UCL Deafness, Cognition and Language Research Centre

Career Achievement Award

Michael Edwards, UCL Bartlett School of Planning
