MSc in Theoretical Psychoanalytic Studies

Time and Space in Psychoanalysis

Coordinator: Prof Rosine Jozef Perelberg, PhD

This course aims to explore how psychoanalysis has dealt with the dimensions of time and space in theory and clinical practice. It is suggested that crucial differences between authors are centred on these notions. These will have profound implications for a theory of technique, for the role given to experience in the analytic process, and for the interplay between the silence of the analyst and the timing of the formulation of an interpretation.
