What Masters courses are available within the Research Department of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology?

In the event that UCL is not satisfied with my level of English, is it possible to take a course before the academic year begins?

Are there funds or grants within the University or department which may be able to assist with the cost of the course?
There are a variety of different funding options for both UK/EU and International Students. For information on entry scholarships and other sources of funding for Graduate students please see UCL Graduate Scholarships.
To apply for funding it is necessary to have completed your application for admission.
Please note that the deadlines for scholorship applications are strongly adhered to and no application will be accepted after the deadline date indicated.
Does the Psychoanalysis Unit accept mature students?

How do I apply? Is it possible to have an application form emailed to me?
Applications should be made online in the first instance. If you are interested in applying after the deadline for online applications, please contact the Programme Administrator directly.
Does the MSc entail clinical training/practice? Does the MSc allow students to obtain a license to practice psychotherapy?
This program does NOT certify you to practise psychotherapy. You would then need to go on to do a clinical training in psychotherapy, either a doctoral training or a professional training in a clinical institute. This is an academic course following the history of psychoanalysis to the present day and there is no clinical element. Current students should consult the Programme Tutor for advice about voluntary work, clinical placements etc. Please also see under resources for useful links.
Can you receive a Post Graduate Diploma after the completion of the first year?
Unfortunately we do not offer a diploma system for the MSc. You would either have to study the 12 months full-time or up to 5 years flexible/modular to be awarded the MSc.
Does the department offer a summer course in theoretical psychoanalysis?
Unfortunately we do not offer a summer programme. You would need to take the MSc as a whole, full-time or as a flexible/modular student from September to September.
Is there an application fee to apply for this program?
UCL charges an application processing fee of £25 for postgraduate taught programmes.
What is the procedure for selection for International students?
Apply online with a copy of your transcripts from your previous education, a copy of your language qualification (if relevant) and two academic references.
I am applying from overseas and cannot attend an interview in person.
We arrange telephone or Skype interviews for International students who are unable to attend the unit in person.
Do you offer the MSc as a distance-learning programme?
Unfortunately we do not offer the MSc as a distance-learning programme.
Graduate students in the US are required to take GRE's (Graduate Record Exams) and submit scores with application for graduate study. Are there any such requirements in the UK?
You do not need to pass a Graduate Record Exam, the entrance requirements for the MSc are a first degree in ANY subject at a level of 2:2 or higher (or overseas equivalent).
What is the equivalent American qualification needed for entry to the MSc?
The American G.P.A equivalent is 3.0.
What is the equivalent Indian qualification needed for entry to the MSc?
An Indian MA or MSc is required (no specific grade is necessary).
