Application

All applications must be submitted through the UCL Application Portal, via the MSc Theoretical Psychoanalytic Studies Prospectus site.

As part of the process, applicants are asked to complete an online form and upload information concerning academic qualifications and proof that the English language requirement (if applicable) has been met. In addition to this, details of two references must be provided. Once the application has been submitted, referees will be contacted by email to request letters of reference. Applicants should be aware that the Admissions Team will not forward on applications to departments for review until both references have been received, so applicants are encouraged to monitor the submission of references through the online portal and contact their referees directly if there appear to be undue delays.

Once both references have been received and the Admissions Team have checked degree equivalences and English Language Requirement information, the application is sent to the programme for consideration. All applications and materials are carefully reviewed by the programme and applicants are then invited to interview in person at the Psychoanalysis Unit or, in the case of international students, via skype. Interviews will typically be scheduled within two to three weeks of the department receiving the application.

Applications are accepted throughout the year up until the admissions cycle closes on the UCL Online Application portal, typically at the end of July. That said, the programme is very popular, so applicants are encouraged to apply early in order to secure a place. Once all places have been filled, applications will continue to be considered with successful applicants being offered a place in the waiting list.
