Information for new MA Linguistics and MRes Linguistics students 2013/14
Before the start of term
- Reading: In order to get off to a good start with the syntax module for the program, would you please make sure that you get hold of a copy of Haegeman, Liliane (2005). Thinking Syntactically. Oxford: Blackwell Publishers. In addition, in preparation of the first seminar for this course on Wednesday 2 October, would you please read from this book the first chapter, entiltled "The Scientific Study of language". Please note that you are expected to have read this chapter before coming to class.

Start of term: 23 September
We will provide tea, coffee and biscuits for new MA and MRes Linguistics students on Monday, 23 September from 9 am to 12 noon in Chandler House B02 for those of you wishing to meet up with each other or to discuss any last minute questions with administrative staff.
There will be an official welcome meeting on Tuesday, 24 September 2011, at 2 pm in Chandler House, where students will receive further information on registration week events and their programme of study, and meet their programme director.
Please note that lectures start in the week beginning 30 September.
