Summer Course in English Phonetics
Accommodation will be offered at Frances Gardner House, a UCL student residence just 1.4 km (15 to 20 minutes walk) from the SCEP lectures and classes on the main campus. Places are limited, and rooms will be allocated as bookings are received — so book early to be sure of a room.
Frances Gardner House is a self-catered student residence a short walk from UCL. Residents here have single bed-sitting rooms with private en-suite shower and toilet facilities, and there is a TV room available to all residents. (Please note that the term "flat" used on the Frances Gardner House website just refers to each group of independent rooms that happen to share a kitchen). No meals are provided, but there are kitchens with cooking facilities where you may prepare your own meals, and there are numerous restaurants nearby. Meals may also be purchased in the UCL Refectory and other cafes on campus.
EFL strand: 13 nights (arriving on Sunday 11 August and leaving on Saturday 24 August) £504
Please note that student residences do not offer the level of comfort or facilities you might expect in a hotel. As this accommodation is offered at special reduced rates, the terms and conditions may differ in some details from those advertised on the hall's own website. Since we are generally unable to refund accommodation payments, you are advised to obtain adequate personal travel insurance to cover you for any illness or accident which might prevent you from attending the course.
