Research Interests
My research interests are in speaker-listener adaptations, speech intelligibility, and speech production/perception in hearing-impaired and non-native speakers, especially in spontaneous speech. In my PhD research I am recording pairs of normally-hearing and hearing-impaired children completing problem-solving tasks together to investigate the acoustic-phonetic and linguistic strategies that the children use to communicate effectively with each other, and whether they are able to adapt their speech to their listener’s needs.
I completed my undergraduate degree in MA (Hons) Linguistics at the University of Edinburgh in 2009, and I have an MSc in Speech & Hearing Sciences from UCL (2010).
