Summary

CAVA will establish a digital video repository for human communication sciences, initially populated with an existing (and growing) body of rights-cleared digital content which is owned by UCL researchers. Each video will be catalogued to a discipline-specific descriptive standard, IMDI[1]. Transcripts and other supporting material will also be deposited wherever available. Access to the video content of the repository will be restricted to bona fide researchers, and the project will develop procedures and processes for managing access. The CAVA repository will be housed within the UCL Library Services Digital Collections[2] service, which uses the Ex Libris DigiTool[3] repository platform. The repository will be an international resource and will be publicised to the community of human communications researchers worldwide.
