Research Interests
I am a postdoctoral research associate at the Developmental Risk and
Resilience Unit. I am currently working on British Academy- and
ESRC-funded projects investigating the function and structure of
emotional brain circuitry in adolescents with antisocial behaviour, with
and without callous-unemotional traits. Using functional/structural MRI
and behavioural testing, I am hoping to better understand the neural
mechanisms of empathy, Theory of Mind, emotion perception, and emotion
regulation in these different subtypes of antisocial behaviour.
Prior to my current position, I completed my PhD
in 2009 at the UCL Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience. I was
co-supervised by Prof. Sarah-Jayne Blakemore and Dr. Essi Viding, and
investigated behavioural and neural responses to social rejection in
typically developing adolescents and in adolescents with autism spectrum
conditions.
