Although it is obviously better not to use resources in the first place, recycling unavoidable waste can help reduce the environmental impact of resource consumption and waste disposal. UCL aims to recycle where possible and the Division would like to encourage recycling wherever possible with an eventual goal of 100% recycling.
Please use the recycling bags where possible, these are the bins with clear bags. If you have a bin with a clear liner then anything put there will be recycled. This includes, paper, card, glass, plastic, cardboard, exam papers etc. Anything with red bags is food for compost. We’re trying to get better bins from Estates & Facilities that make this distinction more apparent.
