Welcome to the webpage of the CISLDC Postgraduate Conference on Current Issues in Sign Linguistics, Deafness and Cognition (CISLDC 2011). The CISLDC 2011 took part on September 16th 2011 and was organised by postgraduate students under the auspices of the Deafness, Cognition, and Language (DCAL) Research Centre, University College London (UCL) and City University.
The postgraduate conference aimed to offer the opportunity for postgraduate students from various areas related to sign language linguistics to come together to present papers related to their research and to exchange ideas. Official languages of the conference were English and British Sign Language (BSL). The conference was a great success. It was well attended, 80 researchers from around the world gathered to exchange their ideas and findings. Numerous sign languages were represented. We would like to thank to our sponsors - LAGB, DCAL and UCL, the sign language interpreters, all of our presenters and everyone else who supported us along the way and on the day for making this a memorable and inspiring event.
This conference would not be possible without the support of:
Linguistics Association of Great Britain
