Abstract: Electronic health records (EHRs) have become widely used in UK mental health clinical practice and, therefore, new sources of detailed clinical information are available. The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) is a tool designed to enable routinely collected EHRs to be used in research. In this seminar we will describe the implementation of CRIS in the Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) and demonstrate its uses in mental health research. We will focus on a joint study by C&I and SLaM assessing admissions to acute mental health services after contact with crisis resolution and home treatment teams among ~18,000 patients.
