Homer: Classical World Summer School

The UCL Department of Greek and Latin is organising a five-day Summer School on Homer, for students who are interested in studying the Homeric epics. There will be lectures, seminars, workshops and events on a wide variety of Homeric topics with classicists, artists, librarians and curators. The classes in the Summer School will be followed by a Roundtable on Homer and Secondary Education, talks by distinguished classicists on the Homeric Epics and a Dance performance. There will also be a Mosaics workshop for those of our participants who feel creative and want to try their luck with mosaics.

This will be an introduction to the ancient world via one of the main texts of Greek literature, which had an enormous influence on subsequent European literature. It will also give students an insight into studying at a university.
