Adult learners' activities

Mature Students' Masterclasses

UCL's Mature Students' Masterclasses are designed for adult learners who are considering applying to university. They offer a taste of learning at university level and the chance to be taught by UCL academics. This year, UCL's 2013 Mature Students' Masterclasses took place from 4 - 11 December 2013 and covered English, Engineering and History.

Birkbeck-UCL Mature Students' Taster Day

On 5th November, 2013 UCL piloted a Mature Students' Taster Day in conjunction with Birkbeck, University of London. The day offered students the chance to explore UCL and Birkbeck and to experience what it's like to study at university through a variety of taster lectures. These included a range of subjects from Biomedicine to History, Law and Geography. Students were also invited to attend sessions about student finance, writing effective personal statements and to ask questions of current mature students at a question and answer session.

UCL Undergraduate Open Day

The annual Open Day is a university wide event, mainly for students making their UCAS choices in the autumn. You can see the campus, visit departments and attend subject talks, tasters and workshops as well as talks about general HE issues such as finance, admissions and accommodation. The 2013 Open Day took place on 27th June, and details of the day - including a number of admissions videos - will soon be available on our Virtual Open Day website.
