Job opportunities at UCL Horizons

Student Ambassadors needed for 2014-15 Year 10 Saturday School

Student ambassadors are an essential part of the UCL Horizons Saturday school. Over the year you will build positive relationships with a group of teenagers. You will act as a classroom support assistant, participating in sessions and keeping students engaged. You will deal with minor behavioural issues as necessary. You will also use your initiative to speak to young people about your experiences of higher education, acting as a sympathetic role model.

The ambassador role is an excellent development opportunity that will enhance your employability after university. You will develop communication, team working and leadership skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Student ambassador applicants must be enrolled on an undergraduate or postgraduate study programme at UCL throughout the academic year 2014-15. Applicants studying at other institutions are not eligible to apply; nor are UCL students who are graduating in Summer / Autumn 2014.

Student ambassadors work from 9am to 1pm on 21 Saturday sessions from November to June, plus two evening sessions. See the job description below for exact dates.

How to apply

Download and read the job description below, and then prepare a CV and a one page cover letter explaining why you are a strong candidate. Email your application to Aileen Toal (a.toal@ucl.ac.uk) by midday on Wednesday 4 June. Interviews will be held on the 10, 11 and 12 June.

If you have any questions about the role, please contact Aileen Toal or call her on 0207 679 2994.
