Being Human Year 8 Summer School

The Being Human Summer School is for Year 8 students who would like to spend a week learning at UCL, a world renowned university.   The summer school is run by UCL's Museums and Collections team, who have put together a fun week of activities that explore ideas around identity and what it means to be human. 

Many of the sessions will be based in museums and you will get the opportunity to handle, and learn from, real museum objects. You will discover some of the history of ideas about our bodies, how they have been studied in the past, and what we can learn from art, science and medicine now.

Examples of some of the sessions that you could take part in are: 

During the week you will meet and make friends with lots of students from other schools, as well as get the chance to find out more about university. You will also get a certificate for taking part. 

Eligibility criteria

Our events and activities are funded by UCL's Access Agreement and Widening Participation funds. As such, there are eligibility criteria that all applicants should consider before applying.

When?

The Being Human Summer School runs in the half-term break, Tuesday 29 May to Friday 1 June 2018

Where?

At UCL which is located in Bloomsbury in central London (nearest tubes Euston/Warren Street).
