Urban Studies BSc - Robin Karlsen

Student profile: Robin Karlsen

Degree: Urban Studies BSc
Second year
Subject area: Urban Planning and Urban Studies

I decided to study at UCL after a year of studies in Hong Kong and New Zealand. I was attracted by the academic reputation of UCL and The Bartlett as well as the idea of pursuing a degree and career in London. I like the way the Urban Studies programme looks at urban spaces, construction and society holistically and combines courses in design, real estate and social studies. I hope to pursue a degree in real estate development and start my own business in the near future.

London is a true metropolis and a global capital. London has the people, the places and the parties. At UCL you meet people from all over the world, which I believe is one of the key advantages of UCL on a global basis.

I have a start-up that is connected with UCL Advances. I am also a current committee member of the UCL Enterprise Society and, in my opinion, UCL provides good assistance to start-ups.
