Electrical and Electronic Engineering (International Program) MEng - Laura Santos

Student profile: Laura Santos

Degree: Electrical and Electronic Engineering (International Program) MEng
Second year
Subject area: Engineering Science

Apart from UCL being one of the top universities in the world, one of the immediate attractions for me was the engaged and vibrant community.

One of the best assets that I have found in my first year of studying Electrical and Electronic Engineering is the personal attention that is given to the students. The second was the fact that almost everything we learnt was shown or experimented in practice. Our weekly lab schedules incorporated most of the subject covered in lectures, lecturers showed examples in the actual classes and our week-long Scenario’s allowed us to research, explore, and sometimes even unravel, in groups, a real life problem.

I plan to work in the favelas in Brasil after completing my degree, enticing new start ups as well as introducing renewable resources, engineering solutions, through understanding their needs, activities and visions on a daily basis.
