Jewish History BA - Edouard Harari

Student profile: Edouard Harari

Degree: Jewish History BA
Fourth year
Subject area: Hebrew and Jewish Studies

I wanted to come to UCL, and especially for this degree programme, because it represented for me the perfect combination of a big university and a personalised approach. I chose this degree because it was an opportunity to delve into an aspect of history that I feel close to.

I have particularly enjoyed studying the modern period of Jewish history and all the history of Israel. But the best part of this programme was for me undoubtedly the Year Abroad. In my third year, I was lucky enough to live and study in Jerusalem and really see for myself what I had been studying only in theory. After graduation, I hope to continue working in the field of Middle Eastern affairs. I intend to gain work experience in diplomacy before applying for a Master’s degree.

London is truly a city made for students because it is great not only to relax and go out, but also to study. There are always opportunities to enjoy and discover a new part of this huge and cosmopolitan city. Regarding my studies, I think that London, with all its libraries and museums, is very enriching culturally.
