Student life

Campus and facilities

All you need to fulfil your potential is here at UCL, right at the heart of one of the world's great capital cities.

Academic resources

At UCL we're constantly upgrading study and collaboration spaces to meet students' needs. Our most recently opened space is in the iconic Art Deco Senate House.

Study spaces

We are continually investing in our teaching and learning spaces, and have a range of study spaces available to you in our libraries, hubs and in the UCL Students' Union (UCLU). The newly opened Cruciform Hub incorporates space for seminars and project work, individual study, and a computer cluster.

The Student View

" I love the variety in my programme - one day you might be studying language science, the next psychology, and another day a mixture of both with neuroscience!
Nudrat Ahmed

We have lab sessions which take place in environments where real language science research is ongoing. There's a placement in the second year in a nursery which I'm really looking forward to; other students have said it was a degree highlight.

The facilities here are excellent. As a UCL student, you have access to all UCL libraries. The UCL Language and Speech Science Library is in the building where we are mainly placed, however I've been to many other libraries - such as the UCL Science Library or the UCL Main Library. There are loads of PC clusters to do your work on and any software you need for your degree you can download from the UCL software database. Our Personal Tutors offer great advice, especially in terms of careers.

We have 18 specialist libraries, with older material available on demand from our Store outside London, and our valuable and historic material is housed in Special Collections.

As well as being open to the public, UCL's diverse museums and collections are often used as teaching resources.
