How to apply

As with other UK universities, applications to UCL are made via UCAS. These pages guide you through the key points you need to consider.

Mature students and part-time study

Mature students

We welcome applicants who wish to return to formal study after a substantial time away from academia.

If you do not have the required entry qualifications you should have alternative qualifications that demonstrate your academic potential and ability to thrive in your chosen subject.

Please get in touch with the relevant degree programme contact if you'd like to join UCL as a mature student. Please note that applications for full-time study as a mature student are made through UCAS.

Part-time study

Our degrees are principally designed to be taken on a full-time basis; all teaching takes place during the daytime. However, some departments do permit part-time study. Please get in touch with the relevant degree programme contact if you're considering part-time study at UCL.

Note: applications for part-time study are made directly to UCL rather than to UCAS. The only exception to this rule is the Working with Children: Education and Wellbeing (Top-Up) BA/BEd, based in the Instutute of Education; applicants for this programme should apply through UCAS.
