English language requirement
If your first language is not English you must be able to provide recent evidence that your spoken and written command of the English language is adequate for the programmes for which you have applied.
The requirements for all programmes (as indicated in the table below) will be at one of three levels: Standard, Good, or Advanced and the evidence we require may take one of the following forms:
- substantial education (minimum 12 months) or work experience (minimum 18 months) conducted in English in a majority English speaking country and undertaken no more than two years prior to your proposed date of enrolment
- an acceptable English language qualification or test result, which must have been awarded no more than two years prior to your proposed date of enrolment.
We reserve the right, in individual circumstances, to specify an additional language requirement for an applicant if it is felt to be necessary, or to require a higher level than that indicated.

Faculty of Arts and Humanities
Advanced level required for all programmes, except:

where a standard level is required.
Faculty of Brain Sciences
Good level required for all programmes, except:
- C800 Psychology
where an Advanced level is required for GCSE/IGCSE
Faculty of the Built Environment
Standard level required for all programmes.
Faculty of Engineering Sciences
Standard level required for all programmes, except:
- PN11 Information Management for Business
- P1N1 Information Management for Business
where a good level is required.
