Information for Prospective Students
UCL Student Disability Services
If you’re disabled, have dyslexia or a long-term medical condition you can find out more about support services from our web pages or by contacting the Student Disability Services team. If you tell us about a disability on your UCAS application this will prompt us to send you more information about our services and will help us ensure we can meet your needs.
We are happy to arrange information visits so that you can find out more about the physical environment and facilities or discuss support arrangements with us in person. If you’re a wheelchair user or are mobility impaired it’s important to visit if you can before you apply – the design of some of our older buildings means that access to some departments might be difficult. We can offer funding for travel from your home (in the UK) to UCL, plus the cost of an overnight stay in a local hotel. If you need someone to accompany you we will pay for them as well.
Student Disability Services provide information and advice for all disabled UCL students and organise support services such as note-taking, communication support, mentoring and study skills tuition. We also assist students in applications for the Disabled Students’ Allowance. Specialist staff are able to provide diagnostic assessments of dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties.
Our services and facilities, which include a dedicated IT Suite equipped with a range of specialist equipment and software, are detailed on our website and a copy of our information booklet is available on request. If you’d like to discuss your individual needs or have questions about the support that might be available to you, please contact us at any stage of the application process.
