UCL Care Leaver Bursary
UCL Care Leavers Bursary for Undergraduate Students
The aim of the UCL Care Leavers Bursary is to enable and encourage UK domicile students who live in or have lived in care to pursue their undergraduate studies at UCL. Awards are available for the 2013/14 academic session for an initial three-year period.
Applicants for the bursary must:
- be prospective UK domicile students, who are under the age of 25 and can demonstrate that they live in or have lived in care for more than three months, intending to pursue their undergraduate studies at UCL;
- hold an offer of admission to UCL to study a full-time undergraduate degree for the 2013/14 intake (commencing in September 2013).
The recipients will be identified by the UCL Widening Participation and UK Undergraduate Recruitment Office and Student Funding Office on the basis of their application through UCAS. Students are required to apply for their full student support entitlement and may be asked to provide evidence that they are care leavers.
Value: Benefits and Duration
The successful recipient will be awarded £1,000 per annum for the duration of their programme at UCL subject to satisfactory academic progress. (The bursary will be paid in addition to any funding received through the main UCL Bursary/NSP schemes).
Application Deadline and Procedure
There is no application form for this award. Eligible candidates will be awarded by recommendation of UCL Widening Participation and UK Undergraduate Recruitment Office and Student Funding Office.
Selection and Notification of Results
The successful candidate will be notified before the start of the academic year. Awards will only be made to students who have registered to study at UCL.
