Information for Prospective Students
Home Undergraduate Students
The main source of funding for Undergraduate Home students is a Student Loan. If you are from England, you can apply online via the Direct Gov website.
You can also apply for a loan to cover your tuition fee costs. You will need to re-apply for your student loan for each year of your study.
Students from Scotland should apply for their student support via Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS)
Students from Wales should apply for their student support via Student Finance Wales
Students from Northern Ireland should apply for their student support via Student Finance NI
Eligible health students on certain courses may also be eligible for a bursary from the NHS. To find out more information about eligibility, contact NHS Student Bursaries.
The Access To Learning Fund (ALF) is a government-funded scheme which assists eligible students with the maintenance costs of Higher Education. You will need to submit an application form direct to UCL and provide documentation to support your application. You must be a current student (fully enrolled) at UCL before you can apply to the ALF. The UCL Undergraduate Bursary/National Scholarship Scheme (NSP) is for UG students commencing study from 2012 onwards. Further info can be found on our undergraduate webpages here.
Family Action is a charitable body which provides services to disadvantaged and socially isolated families. They provide grants to low income students and you can use the online search via their website to see what is available.
