Student Loans Scheme (UK-resident UK/EU nationals)
Private Student Loans
All students are advised to first seek funding or loans from their home governments, as such student loan schemes generally offer more favourable terms and conditions than private loans. In the case of US students, UCL will not certify private student loans until and unless the student has exhausted all sources of Federal aid, and with written permission from the applicant. UCL is unable to recommend particular lenders for student loans. We recommend that you contact your bank if you have exhausted every other source of possible funding.
The International Education Finance Corporation (IEFC) has launched a programme of international student loans for students who wish to study in foreign countries, and Sallie Mae, another American company, offers international loans for study at UCL.
