Schools Competition Act Settlement Trust

For the 2011-12 academic year, the Trust is offering the following awards from former pupils of relevant schools listed in the Awards section of the Trust's website at www.scast.org.uk:
| Postgraduate Research Scholarship |
three awards of £16,500 per annum for up to three years tenable October 2011 |
Deadline: 15 June 2011. |
| Postgraduate Bursaries | up to 65 awards of £2,500 tenable October 2011 | Deadline: 2 September 2011 |
| Project Awards |
one tranche of 50 awards of up to £500: tenable November 2010 & one tranche of 50 awards of up to £500: tenable May 2011 |
Applications - current deadline 31 March 2011 |
In addition to the above awards the Trustees will entertain applications from students on the basis of exceptional financial need arising unexpectedly in the course of a programme of study; the financial hardship would not be of the applicant's own making. There are no specific dates for these applications. Applications for support in case of exceptional financial need should be made in writing to the Trustees and sent to the Secretary and Administrators - application form available via link at bottom of page.
Eligibility
You must fulfil three criteria before you can apply for any of the awards.
- you must have attended one of the schools listed in the Awards section of the Trust's website at www.scast.org.uk after 15 September 2001 (for Sedbergh - 15 September 2002); and
- you must have reached the age of 18, and be younger than 30, on the date that the Bursary or Grant would be due to be paid to you; and
- six years must have elapsed from the date when you first attended the school.
