UCL Student Funding

Ardalan Scholarship

Important information for all applicants

Founded in 2010 by a private donor to assist Iranian nationals to undertake Master's study at UCL. One award is available per year.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

• have successfully completed undergraduate-level studies in Iran and be an Iranian national;
• be intending to pursue full-time taught Master's study at UCL and - by the date of the scholarship application deadline - hold an offer of admission to a full-time Master's degree programme at UCL.

Please note that preference will be given to students intending to study within the Department of Economics.

Value: Benefits and Duration

The value of the scholarship is £25,000 for one year. Payment will be applied to tuition fees in the first instance, with any remainder to be paid to the recipient in termly instalments for maintenance.

Application Deadline and Procedure

Before completing the application form, please read the Master's Scholarship Application Form Guidance Notes.

Eligible candidates must complete the UCL Master's Scholarship Application Form, and submit it – along with supporting documents specified in the form – to the UCL Student Funding Office by 18 March.

The reference form is part of the application form but it is available to be downloaded separately here if required.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Potential candidates must ensure that they submit a full scholarship application by the deadline irrespective of whether an offer of admission has reached them or not. At/after the deadline the UCL Student Funding Office will check UCL systems to confirm whether the scholarship applicant holds an offer of admission to one of the eligible UCL programmes and on what date that offer was made. Scholarships applicants without an admissions offer at the time of the scholarship deadline and for an eligible programme will be excluded from the competition at this point. It is for this reason that we recommend you apply for admission as early as possible, and submit your scholarship application by the deadline.

Late or incomplete applications will not be considered for a scholarship.

Selection and Notification of Results

Selection

The scholarship will be awarded on both academic merit and financial need.

The scholarship will be awarded by the Council upon the recommendation of an academic selection panel.

Notification of Results

Successful and reserve candidates can expect to be notified by email from June onwards.

We are unable to inform unsuccessful applicants. If you do not hear from UCL Student Funding Office by the end of June, please assume your application has been unsuccessful.
