Important information for Students

ESRC Funding

The Department of Science and Technology Studies attracts funding for graduate study and research from the UK Research Councils.

The department's postgraduate degrees have ESRC recognition for 1+3 (MSc and PhD) and +3 (PhD only) funding. Applications for 1+3 funding will require the candidate to be accepted to study through to PhD level in an area covered by the ESRC.

Aristotle Scholarships

The department offers up to three scholarships for UK/EU and Overseas students admitted to one of their postgraduate taught programmes.

Awards are made on the basis of academic excellence.

The scholarship provides the UK/EU rate of fees (for overseas students, this studentship will pay for half the total of the overseas tuition fee).

Wellcome Trust

The department's MSc programmes fall under the remit of the Trust's Medical History and Humanities programme.  The department is permitted to propose one candidate for Master's funding per year.
