Carlina Macdonald Scholarship
The School offers one scholarship each academic year in memory of Carlina Macdonald, a former student of the Italian Department, who graduated in 1991. The scholarship has been made possible by a generous bequest made by the Trustees of Carlina's estate. The scholarship will pay the tuition fee of a UK/EU student in full or contribute the equivalent amount towards the tuition fee of an overseas student.
The scholarship is open to students taking an MA degree in the Italian Department and to students on interdepartmental MA degrees who who intend to take more than half of their MA credits in the Italian Department. UK, EU and overseas students are eligible. The scholarship holder is required to submit a brief report to the Trustees at the conclusion of their degree. There is no application procedure. The School will award the scholarship towards the end of March on the basis of the admissions applications completed by all eligible applicants.
Jean Orr Scholarship
One scholarship for a postgraduate masters student studying in one or more of the following Departments - History, French, Italian and Dutch, awarded on the basis of academic merit.
Value
£7,000 per annum, for one academic year only. This will be applied to the cost of tuition fees for the year, and any additional amount (if relevant) will be paid to the recipient for as maintenance.
Application
Candidates will be selected by academic departments on the basis of admission application form.
