Graduate Studentships in the History of Medicine
Graduate studentships within the Wellcome Trust Centre for the History of Medicine are available for study at Master’s or research at PhD level.
2 - 3 studentships are available to fund students on the MA in the History of Medicine. Applicants for a Master's studentship should normally hold or expect to obtain a First Class Honours Degree.
A similar number of studentships is available each year to enable students to undertake research for a Doctorate in the History of Medicine. Applicants for a PhD studentship should hold or expect to obtain a Master’s degree, preferably with Distinction.
Studentships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence.
Value
Each studentship consists of a maintenance allowance and tuition fees at the UK/UE rate, and is tenable for the normal duration of the programme.
Deadline
Potential applicants must ensure they apply for admission before the relevant deadlines, which are available from the Centre website (www.ucl.ac.uk/histmed). Candidates for PhD awards should note that initial enquiries about admission should be made before 20 December.
Application and Information
There is no separate studentship application form, however, candidates MUST clearly state on their application for graduate admission that they wish to be considered for a Centre studentship
