Uni-link

Years 12 and 13

This partnership scheme has been developed with London schools and colleges to provide support activities for pre-university learners from communities that are under-represented in higher education, as well as focusing on narrowing the skills and expectations gap that many applicants experience.

It is run by the Academic Skills Team and consists of a set of linked activities with groups of Year 12 students from the same school/college that are designed to support progression and raise aspirations, providing a joined-up support route for learners that goes beyond one-off progression activities.

Activities are delivered by UCL staff and students, and focus on the UCAS process, supporting students that have the potential to progress to research-led universities as they enter Year 13, with masterclasses, workshops and mentoring. The scheme is being expanded in 2013 to include students from 10 different schools and colleges.
