"I feel more confident speaking to people due to the speaking skills sessions and getting to know new people."
What is the Summer School?
- At the Summer School you'll have the opportunity to explore a range of academic subjects offered at UCL. All students will participate in a range of academic sessions from the areas of Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences, Engineering and Science.
- You’ll be encouraged to look at the links between different subjects - what you learn in one discipline can be applied to another.
- The Summer School will give you an introduction to the different methods of teaching and learning at university; with lectures, group work, and hands-on activities. The lecturers will be looking for open-minded students who are willing to engage with new subjects and ideas.
- There will be sessions on study skills, student life and careers to help you prepare for university and beyond.
- You’ll work in small groups with other students from across London. Each group will have a current UCL student working as a mentor and group leader.
- The student leaders will be on hand to answer all the questions you have about studying at university. You can find out from them what student life is really like.
