UCL Horizons Year 11 Autumn programme

We run an annual Autumn programme for Year 11 students focused on future careers and preparation for GCSE and A levels, on five Saturdays in September and October.

Lesson

Places are initially offered to students who previously attended our Year 10 Saturday School or Summer School, but we also offer some additional places to students who meet our selection criteria in August. 



Year 11 Careers Conference

A full day of presentations about future career possibilities at the start of Year 11. Year 11s select three talks from young working professionals in these sectors:

  • law
  • education
  • science
  • health
  • engineering
  • psychology
  • finance

Careers and Study Skills workshops

Four-week programme of workshops focusing on:

  • interview skills
  • how to choose your A levels
  • revision techniques
  • essay planning skills
  • critical thinking
  • work experience and CVs
  • university finance from 2012
  • getting an A in Maths GCSE
