UCL Horizons Year 10 Debating Summer School

Our Year 10 Summer School uses the discipline of debating to sharpen critical thinking and public speaking skills.

The programme has a different theme every year; previous themes were 'Science and Society', 'Global Citizenship' and 'Politics'. The Summer School lasts for four days and includes debating workshops, taster lectures, homework activities, an offsite visit, free lunch and a final day debate tournament.

'Science and Society' Summer School 2013

This year the theme of the debating Summer School will be 'Science & Society'. The summer school will run from Monday 29 July - Thursday 1 August 2013. Places are initially offered to students attending the Year 10 Saturday School, but we also recruit some new participants from target schools in the Spring.
