UCL Year 12 Summer Challenge

Summer Challenge is an academic study programme for Year 12 students. It runs on six weekly evening sessions at the UCL Euston Campus during June and July. The programme won a HELOA award for Innovation and Best Practice in January 2013.

A key feature of Summer Challenge is that every student must complete an independent research project. In Week Six students hand in a 1,500 word essay and deliver a presentation on their topic. Summer Challenge improves independent research, critical thinking, public speaking and academic writing skills.

We are running twelve courses in 2013 in science, engineering, arts, humanities and social sciences subjects. Every course is taught by a UCL PhD student or academic, with assistance from a UCL undergraduate.
