Current vacancies: Saturday Ambassadors for 2013-14

About the Saturday School Student Ambassador role

Student ambassadors are an essential part of the UCL Horizons Year 10 Saturday School. Over the year you will build positive relationships with a group of teenagers. You will act as a classroom support assistant, participating in sessions and keeping students engaged. You will deal with minor behavioural issues, and will speak to young people about your experiences of higher education, acting as a sympathetic role model.

The ambassador role is an excellent development opportunity that will enhance your employability after university. You will develop communication, team working and leadership skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Eligibility

Student Ambassadors must be current UCL undergraduate or postgraduate students during academic year 2013-14.  Applicants studying at other institutions are not eligible to apply; nor are UCL alumni who are no longer studying).

Please note that we are also currently recruiting for Student Mentors for a new programme for Year 8 students, funded by the Sutton Trust. The Sutton Trust mentor and the Horizons Student Ambassador positions have the same application form and recruitment schedule. Applicants are very welcome to apply for both positions, or for just one. If applying for both positions, you will only need to be interviewed once.

Download and read the job description below and then complete the online application form.

Please note that the application form cannot be saved; it must be submitted in one go. You should write your supporting statement in a word processing document, then paste it into the form and add all other details when you are ready.
