Finance: Undergraduate Exchange Students
Tuition Fees
As an exchange student you will NOT pay any tuition fees to UCL.
Living Expenses
Students will need access to sufficient funds to cover the cost of living, e.g. accommodation, meals, local travel, books and entertainment. These costs are estimated to be around £880 per month.
You could also check out the Living Costs pages on the UCL web site which gives an idea of costs associated with day to day life in London.
Student Loans
As an exchange student you will NOT be eligible for a UK student loan, government grant, or the Access to Learning Fund.
Working In London
There are plenty of casual jobs in London. If you are an overseas student studying full time in the UK and with entry clearance on your visa, you are allowed to work for up to 20 hours per week during term time, and full time in the vacations. Students from within the EU will have no limit to the number of hours per week that they may work.
