You will receive guidance about planning and preparing for your year abroad from your department during the autumn term of your second year. Contact your Study Abroad Tutor for further details.

During the spring term of your second year, you will participate in the Study Abroad Preparation Programme, the successful completion of which is a prerequisite for progression to your year abroad.

With the assistance of your department, you will prepare your application to the institution at which you wish to study abroad. Application deadlines will differ according to the institution you are applying to - contact your Study Abroad Tutor for details.

Students Wishing to Study Abroad in Québec

Students studying French have the option of spending their year abroad at the Université de Montréal or the Université du Québec à Montréal in Canada.

As these two exchanges are coordinated centrally by the Study Abroad Team and are also open to students from other academic departments, if you would like to be considered for a place on either of these exchanges you must submit a UCL Exchange application to the Study Abroad Team during the autumn term of your second year.

Applications for UCL Exchanges will open in November 2012 and the application deadline will be Friday 7 December 2012. See here for details.
